blades for lapidary materials. The Covington Platinum 303 produces smoother cuts
and is used for cutting rare and valuable materials when waste must be held to a
minimum and speed of cut is essential. The Platinum series diamond blades last
longer and will cut faster than ordinary notched-rim or plated-diamond blades.

Covington’s Platinum
Series plated blades are a significant breakthrough after years of research and
development. Ultra thin and made of stainless steel. These blades conserve gem
materials and hold waste to an unprecedented minimum. This makes them an ideal
choice for glass and precious materials such as sapphire, jade, ruby, and opal.
Because it’s a plated blade it cuts twice the speed of ordinary lapidary
blades. The Ultra thin rim cuts with little chipping and leaves a remarkably
smooth surface requiring less polishing time.

Covington’s Platinum
Series Resin Bonded Diamond Blades. These 1/4” depth super heavy diamond
concentration blades are an excellent choice for cutting Pyrex, glass, ceramic,
and other materials where heat generation must be kept at a minimum. The resin
bonded diamond blade gives a smoother, cleaner cut than most plated blades can.
These long lasting blades are commonly used by glass artists worldwide and are
excellent at cutting glass tube, bar, and rods.

Covington’s Gold Series

The sintered saw blade offers a longer lasting option compared to the notched rim. These blades are manufactured by embedding diamond grit directly into the metal matrix that forms the edge of the saw blade. Over the long run, sintered blades offer a better value than other blades.
